Formerly, a genus of plants including the cypress vine (Quamoclit vulgaris, now called Ipom[oe]a Quamoclit). The genus is now merged in Ipom[oe]a. [1913 Webster] Cypress \Cy"press\ (s?"pr?s), n.; pl.
